What is the impact of Euroscepticism in Sweden?
What is the impact of Euroscepticism in Sweden and in Europe? Does the EU have a future as a community of values?
Euroscepticism denotes the various negative attitudes that exist against the European Union and the values for which it stands. Euroscepticism has shaped politics in different ways in different countries, and the increasing prominence of Eurosceptic and nationalist parties has had an impact on the thinking of mainstream parties, and their representatives in the European Parliament.
In this webinar the publication Euroscepticism and the Future of Europe, Views from the Capitals and the Swedish chapter, “Sweden: Battling for Values”, was presented by the author of the latter, Gunilla Herolf. Thereafter, a discussion followed in which three distinguished panelists gave their views on Euroscepticism in Sweden and in Europe as a whole.
