New Zealand and Sweden- Distant but Likeminded Countries Navigating a Complex Geo-political Landscape

Despite the distance, New Zealand has always considered itself closely aligned to the values shared by its friends in Europe and the Nordic countries in particular.

With increasing levels of global geopolitical tension, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rt. Hon Winston Peters discussed New Zealand’s place in the Asia Pacific as well as the ties that bind New Zealand and Sweden together.

In connection with the reopening of the New Zealand Embassy in Sweden, the Swedish Institute of International Affairs and the Embassy of New Zealand arranged a seminar about small states navigating a global order under stress.
