Disinformation – new trends and responses

Disinformation – new trends and responses

How do disinformation campaigns affect our democracies and how can state and non-state actors respond?

News of foreign interference into national elections has become a common sight in today’s newspapers. Reports of how algorithms are created to make “dark ads”, only visible to the target audience, challenge key principles of open societies. How can we make our democracies more resilient and how can open societies fight back against their enemies in the information realm?

The event was part of the Transatlantic Forum on Strategic Communications (StratCom) project together with the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) and the Atlantic Council.
