Russia 2015: Key Domestic and Foreign Policy Challenges

What is the substance and key arguments of the new Kremlin Strategy for Russian consolidation and foreign policy? What are the mechanisms of the new patriotic mobilization; the survivability of the political regime and the roots of the tension between Russia and the West? What are the Kremlin's suggestions for a new deal with the West and its strategy for Ukraine? What does the Russian society think?

Lilia Shevtsova is an associate fellow of the Russia and Eurasia programme at Chatham House and a nonresident senior fellow of the Foreign Policy Program at Brookings. From 1995-2014 she was a senior associate of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Carnegie Moscow Center. Previously, she was a professor at the Higher School of Economics, professor of political science at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, deputy director of the Institute for International Economic and Political Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and director of the Center of Political Studies in Moscow.
