UI in global international relations conference (ISA 2015)

10 February 2015

On February 17-21 2015, UI researchers participate in the 56th annual convention of the International Studies Association (ISA), the world's biggest conference for research on global governance, foreign policy, peace and conflict and all other topics of the multidisciplinary field of international relations.

ISA has over 6,500 members worldwide and is the most respected and widely known scholarly association dedicated to international studies. This year, the annual convention takes place in New Orleans, gathering almost 5000 participants, presenting almost as many papers in several hundred panels and roundtables.

The ISA convention, which also hosts a major exhibition of academic publishers, is an excellent opportunity for networking with international colleagues and publishers, and updating yourself on research fronts by getting to know what leading scholars are working on before their work is published.

With nine of our researchers participating in New Orleans, UI is strongly represented, on par with leading Swedish Universities. The papers our researchers are presenting cover a wide range of issues, with a common focus on security in a wider sense - empirically dealing with for example post-conflict transformation, security policy in East Asia, and cybersecurity.
