Myanmar in Transition: China and the Conflict in Kachin State

Myanmar has witnessed numerous uprisings since independence from the British in 1947. Discontent has been shaped by a variety of local and regional dynamics. How does regional power dynamics affect the democratic transition in Myanmar? Where are China-Myanmar relations heading?
