Yeonju Jung

Associate Fellow

Yeonju Jung is an Associate Fellow at the Swedish Institute of International Affairs’ Asia Programme and a PhD candidate in International Relations at Stockholm University.

Yeonju's work lies at the intersection of security, development, and gender, with a special focus on the East Asia region. She has published a number of policy-oriented pieces, including on the topics of East Asian countries’ development cooperation, peacebuilding policies, and implementations of the women, peace, and security agenda (WPS). Currently, she is working on her PhD project titled 'Beyond Dichotomies: Critical Inquiries into China’s Engagement in Global Peace Governance'.

Previously, she has worked for the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) as a policy researcher and a local development NGO in Cambodia as a field practitioner. She holds a master’s degree in Social Anthropology of Development at SOAS University of London.
