Ulv Hanssen is an Associate Research Fellow at UI's Asia programme.
He focuses mainly on questions about Japanese security policy and national identity change, as well as Japan’s international relations.
Ulv has a PhD degree in Japanese studies from Freie Universität Berlin. He became a scholarship holder within UI's Scholarship Programme in the spring of 2012 and joined UI as an Associate Fellow in the fall of 2012.
He is Associate Professor at Soka University, Japan, where he teaches courses on Japanese politics, North Korean society and more, as well as researches Sweden’s relations with the Korean Peninsula.
