Nina C Krickel-Choi

Associate Research Fellow

Nina C. Krickel-Choi is an associate research fellow at UI’s Programme for Global Politics and Security and a postdoctoral researcher at Lund University’s Department of Political Science.

She currently pursues research related to the psycho-philosophical underpinnings of climate change imaginaries and climate security, leading the project “Making sense of state climate (in)action: An existentialist study of how states imagine global climate change” funded by the Swedish Research Council.

Nina holds a PhD in International Relations from Stockholm University. She was previously an Ernst-Mach postdoctoral fellow at the Austrian Institute for International Affairs (oiip) and has been affiliated with UI since 2017.

Areas of Expertise
Security studies, international relations of East Asia, sovereignty, state personhood, existentialism, international relations theory, ontological security.
