Jon Fridholm is an Analyst at Stockholm Centre for Eastern European Studies (SCEEUS) at UI.
Jon Fridholm has been working at SCEEUS since October 2026. He primarily covers Belarus and the authoritarian regression in the wake of popular demands for democratic reforms and mass protests in 2020. Jon is also part of the team behind the China-Russia Dashboard, which tracks political, military, and economic relations between China and Russia.
Jon has a background in Swedish civil society. He has worked at Forum Syd’s (now ForumCiv) program department for Eastern Europe, and as program director and head of operations at Östgruppen (Swedish Initiative for Democracy and Human Rights). He has studied sociology, political science, and Russian in Sweden, Norway, Australia, Poland, and Belarus.
