Görrel Espelund is a Swedish journalist and author with special focus on Africa. From 1997 until 2004 she was Africa correspondent for two of Sweden’s leading dailies, Göteborgs-Posten and Sydsvenskan. After her return to Sweden, she has continued to cover the African continent, making several trips a year to various African countries. She has primarily been writing for Swedish newspapers and news magazines. She has also authored several documentary books on Africa. Since 2014, Görrel Espelund lives partly in South Africa. She’s got a BA in journalism at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
