Head of the Middle East and North Africa Programme (MENA)
Fredrik Meiton is the head of the Middle East and North Africa Programme at the Swedish Institute of International Affairs. He is a historian and has previously worked at the universities of Oxford, New York, Chicago, and New Hampshire. His primary research areas are the modern Middle East, political economy, and the history of science and technology. He has written extensively for both popular and academic journals and is the author of the award-winning book Electrical Palestine: Capital and Technology from Empire to Nation (University of California Press, 2019).
