New Collaboration Between the Swedish Institute of International Affairs and School of Global Studies

The Swedish Institute of International Affairs (UI) and its Global Politics and Security Programme (GPS) has entered into collaboration with the School of Global Studies (SGS).

– This is a very exciting collaboration aiming at establishing new contacts between researchers. Working with UI also gives researchers at SGS the opportunity to reach out with policy-relevant research findings to a wider audience, says Isabell Schierenbeck, Acting Head of Department at the School of Global Studies.

Initially, the collaboration will involve research seminars where researchers from both UI and SGS will be invited to present their research. So far, two seminars with researchers from the Swedish Institute of International Affairs are planned at the School of Global Studies:

Environmental Social Science Seminar, May 11 2017
Gunilla Reischl, Head of Programme and Senior Research Fellow of the Global Politics and Security Program at UI, presenting her research.

Peace- and Development Seminar, May 18 2017
Cherine Hussein, research fellow on UI's Special Research Programme in Middle East Politics, presenting her research.

The collaboration will also include other areas, such as public seminars, articles for UI's popular scientific publications, guest research programme, and teaching opportunities.
