UI researcher Caroline Holmqvist honored in Brussels

Caroline Holmqvist, senior lecturer in war studies and researcher at the Swedish Institute of International Affairs (UI), has recently been appointed the Eric Remacle Chair in Peace Studies at the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB).

An honorable post 
Professor Eric Remacle (1960 - 2013) was a Belgian peace researcher working at the ULB. In honor of his achievements in peace research an annual post as the chair of Peace Studies at the ULB has been instituted in his name. 

The objective is to annually invite a person of international reputation to give a course with specific themes of peace and conflict studies as part of the Masters program in International Relations at the ULB.

Critical War Studies - contemporary debates

Caroline Holmqvist will give a course titled "Critical War Studies - contemporary debates," based on her previous and ongoing research.

The course ends with an open lecture followed by reception and mingle 10 December at 18:30 at the Université libre de Bruxelles.

Caroline Holmqvist also teaches and conducts research at the National Defence University, as well as at UI.
