Order in and beyond Europe
What are the prospects for further European integration? How to address concerns of legitimacy and democracy in the EU? What is the status of common values inside the Union and how does that affect the EU’s global role?
On December 10, Ivan Krastev will give us a talk on the topic of "Order in Europe and beyond".
Ivan Krastev is the chairman of the Centre for Liberal Strategies in Sofia and permanent fellow at the Institute for Human Sciences, Vienna. He is a founding board member of the European Council on Foreign Relations, a member of the Board of Trustees of The International Crisis Group and is a contributing opinion writer for The New York Times. Author of the book "After Europe".
This seminar is part of a series coorganized by the Swedish Institute for European Policy Studies (SIEPS) and the Swedish Institute of International Affairs (UI). It will gather key perspectives on the future of the European Union, and result in an anthology to be published in the spring.
