Associate Research Fellow

Dr Jonna Nyman is a Leverhulme Research Fellow and Lecturer in Politics at the University of Sheffield, UK. Her research broadly centres on the politics and ethics of security, with particular interests in energy security, climate politics, and China. She is currently working on a three year project funded by the Leverhulme Trust, titled “Securing China: Understanding Security Politics Beyond the West”. As part of this, she has spent time as a visiting researcher at Peking University and at Shanghai Jiaotong University.

Her current research intersects with all three major focus areas: power relations in Asia, rising Asia and its global impact, and norms and democracy in Asia.
