Cherine Hussein

Research Fellow

Cherine Hussein is a research fellow in the UI's Special Research Program on Middle East Politics - where she is starting a research project that aims to map the ideational and organizational practices of resistance linked to the single democratic state idea of the Palestinian Diaspora in Europe.

Her research focuses on the politics of social transformation in the Middle East, with a particular interest in the writings of Antonio Gramsci and Edward Said, as well as the role of organic intellectuals in instigating social change. She is the author of The Re-Emergence of the Single State Solution in Palestine/Israel: Countering an Illusion (London, Routledge: March 2015).
