UI’s Russia and Eurasia Programme invites you to a seminar on the military strategy and goals of Russia. Russia is accused of coordinating a “hybrid war” in Ukraine and in Syria Putin has used military force outside the borders of the former Soviet Union for the first time since the end of the Cold War. How can the use of military force in Ukraine and Syria be understood? What are Russia’s military strengths and weaknesses? What implications does Russia's military strategy have?
