The Swedish Institute of International Affairs, UI, organized a lecture by the American senior statesman, political scientist and geostrategist, Dr Zbigniew Brzezinski.

Using his recently published book; Strategic Vision: America and the Crisis of Global Power as a point of departure, Dr Zbigniew Brzezinski outlined his view on the implications of the changing distribution of global power from West to East, and how it is affected by the new reality of a politically awakened humanity.
Dr Zbigniew Brzezinski has a long and distinguished list of international achievements. He served as United States National Security Advisor to President Jimmy Carter from 1977 to 1981. He is the recipient of numerous honors and awards, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his role in the normalization of U.S.-China relations and for his contributions to the human rights and national security policies of the United States.
Dr Zbigniew Brzezinski contributed to the signing of the second Strategic Arms Limitation Treaty (SALT II) and of brokering the Camp David Accords. In 1988, he was cochairman of the Bush National Security Advisory Task Force, and in 2004, he was cochairman of a Council on Foreign Relations task force that issued the report Iran: Time for a New Approach.
His many books include America and the World: Conversations on the Future of American Foreign Policy. Dr Brzezinski is currently the Robert E. Osgood Professor of American Foreign Policy at Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies, a scholar at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and a member of various boards and councils. Dr. Brzezinski received his Ph.D. from Harvard University
The lecture was moderated by the senior reporter at Göteborgs Posten, author and expert on US policy, Britt-Marie Mattsson.
